About the Project
Salon Express came up with the question,
“How might we help customers discover services of local salons while saving their time and money?”. The solution was to design an app that saves customers time by removing the need to stand in line and allowing them to research and compare different salons.

Problem Statement

Customers often struggle with finding a salon that meets their needs and preferences. This can include finding the right location, services offered, availability, and prices. A lack of reliable information and reviews can make this process even more difficult. Salon Express solves these problems. It is an effective way to view and book salon appointments.

Requirements

  1. The first requirement is to design an application that is gender-neutral and conveys a clear purpose, radiating trust and reliability.

  2. The second requirement is to create an easy-to-use application that enables customers to find salons in their area with ratings and necessary details.

  3. The application must include online booking functionality that allows customers to book appointments with salons directly through the application. Additionally, it must provide visual content such as photos and videos of the salons and their services to help customers make informed decisions about where to go.

Solution

  1. Using the color blue will give the application a more sophisticated and professional look. Blue is associated with trust and confidence and is often used in corporate branding because it conveys a sense of reliability and trustworthiness.

  2. A clear and easy-to-follow navigation with clear labels and icons should be provided to help users find what they are looking for. The homepage should display necessary yet minimal details to save customers time. The search function should be flexible, allowing users to search for salons by name, location, services offered, and other relevant criteria.

  3. The application should provide users with the ability to schedule appointments directly with the salon, including options for reminders and notifications. Additionally, users should be able to communicate directly with their favorite salon experts, allowing them to discuss their preferences and customize services to meet their specific needs.

Struggles

  1. Personalization: A mobile application should allow users to personalize their experience by saving their favorite salons, stylists, and services, making it easier for them to find what they need in the future.

  2. Booking process: A mobile application should make it easy for users to book appointments, with clear instructions and a streamlined booking process.

  3. Review and ratings: A mobile application should allow users to read reviews and ratings from other customers, which can help them make informed decisions about the salons they are considering.
